At Brave Sports Academy, we are passionate about fostering diversity and providing a personalised education that fits the unique needs of every Learner-Athlete. We believe that our programme needs to be inclusive, empowering, and accessible to all, regardless of background or prior educational experiences. That's why our entrance requirements are designed to be as flexible as possible, ensuring that every Learner has the opportunity to embark on a transformative journey with BAS.
For BAS, you must be at least 14 years of age to enrol. Beyond that, your entrance requirements will depend on which education curriculum you are choosing to follow:
For the British International Curriculum and the American Curriculum:
Proof of Previous Educational Year Completion
The primary requirement for enrolment at BGA is simple: Learners need to provide proof that they have successfully completed their previous educational year, regardless of the school or educational model they were a part of. We welcome Learners from a wide range of educational backgrounds, including traditional schools, homeschooling, online education, or any other learning path. This commitment to inclusivity means that we embrace the diversity of experiences and learning styles that each Learner brings to our community.
English Proficiency Requirement for Non-Native English Speakers
To ensure a smooth academic experience, all Learners whose first language is not English are required to complete an English proficiency test as part of the admissions process. This test allows us to assess their language skills and provide appropriate support if needed, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum and thrive in our learning environment.
The minimum requirements are the following:
B1 or higher: Lower Secondary programme (grades 6, 7, and 8)
B2 or higher: IGCSE, A Levels, and UP programmes (from grade 9 onward)
Special Needs Admissions Process
For Learners with special educational needs, we ask families to provide relevant medical documentation that outlines the Learner’s specific requirements prior to initiating the application process. Additionally, all applicants with special needs must complete a mandatory trial period at one of our Hubs. This trial period allows our team to evaluate if our resources can adequately meet the Learner’s needs and to ensure they have the best chance of success in our programme.
Placement Test for Learners Without Proof of Completion
We understand that not all Learners may have access to formal documentation of their previous educational year, especially if they were not part of an educational institution. In such cases, we offer a placement test to help determine the appropriate starting point for their BGA journey. This test assists us in assessing the Learner's current knowledge and skills, allowing us to recommend whether they should begin with Lower Secondary, IGCSEs, or A-Levels. Our goal is to ensure that Learners receive an education that aligns with their abilities and aspirations.
Placement Table of Equivalencies
Level | British | American |
Lower Secondary |
Year 7 | Grade 6 |
Year 8 | Grade 7 | |
Year 9 | Grade 8 | |
IGCSEs | Year 10 | Grade 9 |
Year 11 | Grade 10 | |

For the Unique Pathway (UP) Programme:
Not every BAS Learner will be eligible for this pathway. Only those who are at least 16 years of age, and meet the following requirements:
Proof of Completion of International GCSEs or Equivalent
In addition to being at least 16 years of age or above, the primary requirement for enrolment in UP is simple: Learners need to provide proof that they have successfully completed their international GCSEs or equivalent, regardless of the school or educational model they were a part of. We welcome Learners from a wide range of educational backgrounds, including traditional schools, homeschooling, online education, or other learning paths. This commitment to inclusivity means that we embrace the diversity of experiences and learning styles that each Learner brings to our community.
